I totally loved this book. I found it very inspirational that I filled thirteen pages of my notebook with my favorite passages. Unleash Your Highest Potential by Vic & Avelynn Garcia really does help you unleash your highest potential. This book was what has helped me decide to finally do things that I want to do but that I keep putting off, one of which is dancing. All I needed was a little push; and this book did exactly that.

Here are a few passages from the book that I wrote down.

“Begin to release your faith to the fullness of your God-given destiny. Give your 100%, even if you think nothing is happening and no one notices you.”

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent, and could say, ‘I used everything You gave me.'” — Erma Bombeck

“You may think that your dreams have died, but remember that God can resurrect your dead dreams!”

“Take the initiative. Read books and unleash your gift. Don’t think or say you’re too old or too dumb to learn or too young to grasp knowledge!”

What I also liked about this book is that it doesn’t teach us to completely focus on ourselves; it encourages us to think about others and help them with what they are going through.

“If you are lonely, don’t just pray to God to send somebody to make you happy. Instead, go and ease the loneliness of others by praying for them.”

“If you are in pain, go help somebody else ease his pain. If you are sick, spend time in praying for the healing of somebody else who is suffering from illness. If you are facing financial difficulties, go and help others financially. As Anne Frank says, ‘No one has ever become poor by giving.'”

A message for when you are facing adversity:

“Don’t wallow in self-pity! Instead, focus on the purpose of your adversity in advancing to what God intended you to be!”

Lastly, we must always remember …

“Unleashing one’s potential cannot be done by our mere strength and effort. No matter how you give your best, if you do not surrender your spirit to God, it will amount to nothing and bear no eternal implications.”

Unleash Your Highest Potential by Vic & Avelynn Garcia is written in both English and Tagalog.
